The Neighbourhood Shares New Video Feat. Blake Griffin, Lana Del Rey, Mac Demarco, Jaden Smith, Benny Blanco, Devon Carlson And Alexa Demie

On the heels of releasing the deluxe edition of their album Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones on Friday, which features 4 brand new songs from the band, The Neighbourhood is back to share a video for new song “Stargazing.”  The latest visual installment in the Chip Chrome universe, the video is directed by Ramez Silyan and features cameos from the likes of Blake Griffin, Lana Del Rey, Mac DeMarco, Jaden Smith, Benny Blanco, Devon Carlson and Alexa Demie. It picks up where The Neighbourhood and Silyan left the story of the “Pretty Boy” video, with Silyan putting it best:

“’Stargazing’ is the culmination of my personal relationship with Chip Chrome & the Monotones aka The Neighbourhood. This video builds off of our previous effort “Pretty Boy,” aesthetically mirroring the bands reality within a fantasy and thematically taking the ideas set forth to a logical end.

Jesse turned himself into a shiny object hoping to catch strangers eyes on the streets of Hollywood, ultimately flailing and feeling like a lost loser. If “Pretty Boy” is the sad question… ‘Stargazing’ is meant to be the hopeful response. It’s Jesse and the band on a ‘tour,’ going door to door attempting to connect, give feeling, the same way Gibby did for him in the previous video, overcoming self doubt. It’s about the persistence it takes to make your dream a reality, committing to the vision regardless of others definition of success.”

Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones finds the band fully transformed into the album’s title characters with Jesse Rutherford serving as Chip Chrome and the rest of the band as The Mono-Tones. Initially introduced in 2019’s “Middle of Somewhere” video, Chip Chrome and The Mono-Tones quickly became a vessel for inspiration and a tangible extension of the next stage of The Neighbourhood, the characters allowing for a new evolution of their sound and artistry.
