Williams Earns Third Player of the Week Honor

Chattanooga junior forward Eboni Williams was named the College Sports Madness Player of the Week for the Southern Conference.

This is the third honor Williams earned for a career game against Georgia State, leading the Mocs to the 2020 GSU Holiday Classic title. She was 11-of-17 in the game and made both 3-point attempts and six free throws for a career-best 30 points. She recorded her first double-double of the year with 10 rebounds.

Williams led the Mocs in scoring in three of the four games in the previous week. She had 14 points in UTC last second win at Austin Peay and another 14 points at home against Eastern Kentucky, just missing a double-double with nine boards.

In the Mocs’ game against former Southern Conference foe Georgia Southern in the Holiday Classic, she had 20 points and eight rebounds.

On the week she was 29-of-58 from the field and had eight assists, five blocked shots and six steals.

She was named the Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week presented by GEICO and women’s basketball Player of the Week by the Tennessee Sports Writer’s Association.

The Mocs close out the non-conference slate Tuesday, December 29 at North Alabama. Follow all the action online at GoMocs.com.
