Cloud Nothings Releases New Album ‘The Shadow I Remember’

Cloud Nothings releases their new album The Shadow I Remember via Carpark Records. Produced by Steve Albini, the new album finds Dylan Baldi exploring his place in the world as both human and band a decade into his career. The album is the follow-up to 2018’s Last Building Burning and includes the previously-released singles “Nothing Without You,” which Rolling Stone featured as a Song You Need to Know, “The Spirit Of,” which Stereogum called a “boppy power-pop” and “Am I Something,” which Paste said “blends existentialism with killer guitar lines.”

Coinciding with the album release, the band is also set to perform live from The Grog Shop in Cleveland this Saturday, February 27th, for a Bandcamp album release livestream. The livestream schedule can be found below and tickets are available for $10 here.

The Shadow I Remember arrives after the band re-released their debut album Turning On last month. Recorded by Baldi on a computer in his parents’ basement, Turning On is an essential album to fully understand the world of Cloud Nothings. Including live staples like “Hey Cool Kid” and “Can’t Stay Awake,” the album is available on vinyl with its original tracklist, while the digital 10th anniversary deluxe edition includes all 13 tracks found in Carpark’s first edition of the album plus four new bonus live tracks.
