Lounge singing legend Richard Cheese celebrates 20 years of performing with the release of another all-new album.
“Big Cheese Energy,” his 28th release since 2000, features 17 new lounge-style covers of rock, rap, and pop hits. Imagine Frank Sinatra singing “WAP” by Cardi B, and you’ve got Richard Cheese & Lounge Against The Machine.
Says Cheese, “’My new album ‘Big Cheese Energy‘ includes swanky lounge versions of songs originally by Drake, BTS, Weezer, Kendrick Lamar, Eazy-E, Cardi B, and many more. Plus, we’ve decided to include three seconds of blank space between every track, at no additional charge!”
The album also features an original comedy song written by Richard Cheese titled “Vaccine Daddy,” a pandemic love song.
In addition to the new album, Richard Cheese is featured throughout the new Lionsgate comedy “Barb And Star Go To Vista Del Mar” starring Kristen Wiig, Annie Mumolo, and Jamie Dornan. The movie premiered February 12 to rave reviews and is already being called a comedy classic.
One of the many songs Cheese sings in the film is “I Love Boobies,” which he co-wrote with Wiig and Mumolo. The song is featured on the film’s official soundtrack album.
“I am so incredibly excited to play a part in this hilarious movie,” says Cheese. “Working with Kristen Wiig was a dream come true, although I didn’t actually have dreams about her or anything weird like that, it’s just a thing you say in showbiz.”
In a recent podcast interview with Variety, Kristen Wiig said, “Everyone should just go wherever you get your music and look up Richard Cheese because his music is amazing.”
