Amiture Shares New Track + Video “Thief”

Amiture – a.k.a NYC-based musician and filmmaker Jack Whitescarver – is set to release his debut album The Beach on March 19th via Dots Per Inch Music (Grace Ives, Model/Actriz, Lucy) and today shares the third and final single “Thief.” Showcasing his romantic, pop-driven approach to loss and love, “Thief” glows like the sunset preparing you for the nighttime journey that is the rest of The Beach. Setting the tone with lyrics about the sometimes desperate ways in which we protect ourselves from pain, “Thief” is built with cinematic images of wildfires and biting dogs along a dark and deadly backwoods road, buzzing with electricity.

“The production of the music video for “Thief” bookended the writing & production of The Beach. This was the first collaboration between me and Anna Thérèse Witenberg and made very clear how exciting and fruitful it is for us to work together,” says Whitescarver of the single and video.

“The video for Thief is about someone who wakes up on a beach they’ve never seen before and the subsequent search for bearings in a very unfamiliar place. The town on the coast of Connecticut where my dad lives was the perfect location. In the off season, it is completely empty and you’re left with this feeling that you’re at the end of the Earth. This feeling of being on the edge of reality is the thread that ties The Beach together.”
