Hamilton, Women’s Golf Tie for Third in Florida
The Chattanooga Mocs shot a season-best 882 to tie for third in the UNF Collegiate. The Mocs turned in a final tally of 296 led by sophomore Esme Hamilton.
Hamilton carded 1-under 71 over the last 18 holes tying for third at 2-over 218. It was her second third-place ending of the year and fourth top 10 in seven events. She finished four shots off the pace of 2 under set by Sam Houston State’s Hanna Alberto.
Daphne van Son completed a consistent effort with a 1-over 73. She tied for 10th, her second top 10 of 2020-21, ending at 222. That was two ahead of Dorota Zalewska in 16th with 224. Zalewska posted 75 today with the 296 completed by Beatriz Barrios’ 77.
Barrios just missed the top 25 tying for 27th at 228. Rachel Thompson completed the squad with 244.
Host North Florida captured the team title with 878 after a final round 289 (+1). Sam Houston was second at 888 with South Alabama matched the Mocs in third with 892.
The Mocs are right back into the fray in six days at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate. The two-day, 54-hole event is held at English Turn.
