Mocs Up to No. 14 in the FCS Top 25

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team is up to No. 14 in this week’s STATS PERFORM FCS Top 25. The Mocs are coming off a 25-24 overtime win at The Citadel on Saturday. UTC is 2-1 overall and 2-0 in Southern Conference action.

Chattanooga moved up four spots to 14th under second-year head coach Rusty Wright. This is the highest ranking for the Mocs since the second week of the 2017 season when UTC was No. 13 in the STATS Top 25.

Furman is 2-1 in league action and the next SoCon team in the rankings, right behind the Mocs at No. 15. UTC travels to Greenville, S.C., on March 20 to take on the Paladins following this week’s bye. Game time at Furman is set for 12:00 p.m. (E.D.T.).

Wofford is the other SoCon team in the top 25. The Terriers are No. 20 this week with a 1-1 league mark. They were forced to postponed last weekend’s game against ETSU due to COVID-19 issues.

VMI joins the Mocs with a 2-0 SoCon record. The Keydets earned 89 points in the poll and are the first listed in the ‘Others Receiving Votes’ category. ETSU also earned 12 points in the poll.
