Tatiana Hazel Announces ‘And The World Will Turn’ EP

Today, Tatiana Hazel announces her new EP And The World Will Turn. Out July 15th, the project is handcrafted by Hazel herself, the artist writing, producing, recording, mixing and mastering the entire project except for “Work Hard,” which she collaborated with her close friend Drew via a discord session. The result is a kaleidoscopic pop soundscape that feels as intimate as it does grande. The project follows the DIY popstar’s 2020 EP Duality and includes her previously-released single “Tired of Being Myself” alongside the new song and video releasing today, “It’s All Right.”

Speaking on the song, Hazel says: “The past year of lockdown has been a time of self-reflection and discovery for a lot of us. This can be both a beautiful and painful thing. For me, it was definitely both. I was forced to sit with all of these unresolved traumas, internalized societal pressures, self identity, along with so many other things that I’d put off confronting for years. Along with personal matters, there were also so many things going on in the world and country. I’m a very empathetic person, so I really took in that energy and that pain and it was hard to get past it. I started out the pandemic completely alone in a city that I had only lived in for 6 months at the time and some days were really difficult. One of the things that really got me through those times was the song “It’s All Right” by Sam Cooke. I listened to it almost every night and had a glass of wine and cooked myself dinner and it really felt like everything would be okay (it was, and it will be). I wanted to make a song that would make people feel the way that song made me feel, so I made ‘It’s All Right’”

And The World Will Turn has been in the works since February when Hazel relocated to Hollywood with her manager after an initial living mishap left her stranded. “There was so much in my life that was out of my control (as we have all experienced through the pandemic) that this project was the one thing I wanted full control over.” Through the rubble she created a whole new world, self-directing and editing all her videos, as well as shooting all the artwork with the help of her manager. “I wanted to show that you don’t need a big budget or team to bring your visions to life. There may be a lot of uncertainty in the world, but take control of what you can and leave the rest up to the universe. All I know is that the world will keep on turning.”
