The Chattanooga Mocs finished off the 2021 Mason Rudolph Championships with the low round of the weekend. The ladies made their way around the Vanderbilt Legends Club’s North Course at 3-over 291. That gave the Mocs a 3-day total of 885.
Today’s effort was led by freshman Carolina Hortian. She exploded with six birdies today which more than doubled her total over the first two rounds. Her 2-under 70 was three ahead of Beatriz Barrios and Dorota Zalewska with 73s. Esme Hamilton and Megan Docherty were two behind that duo at 75.
Hamilton paced the squad with 220 over her 54 holes. Zalewska shook off a slow start to play her final 36 at 1 under for 222. Barrios and Hortian matched each other at 223 with Docherty coming in at 229.
Oregon ran away with the team title behind Hsin-Yu Lu. The Ducks shot 838 with Lu’s 17-under 199 winning medalist honors by six. Alabama finished second at 852.
Chattanooga is off until next Sunday in Virginia Beach, Va. It starts the 3-day, 54-hole Princess Anne Invitational at Princess Anne Country Club.
