Maggie Shaw Named to SoCon All-Tournament Team
Chattanooga defender Maggie Shaw was selected to the Southern Conference women’s soccer All-SoCon Tournament Team, the league office announced at the conclusion of the conference tournament Sunday afternoon.
Shaw was named to the SoCon all-conference team for the second straight season and earns her second all-tournament nod in three years. She scored the equalizer in the 89th minute against Wofford in the first round to force overtime. The game would end in a 5-3 shootout win for the Mocs.
Shaw was one of 17 members of the team that saw SoCon regular season and tournament champion Samford get four named to the team and runner-up Furman with three. Semifinalists Western Carolina and Mercer each had two on the team and the remaining teams had one nod each.
Samford’s Mary Raymond was named the Champoinship’s Most Outstanding Player and Alyssa Frazier of the Bulldogs’ received the Pinnacle Award given to the player on the championship team with the highest GPA.
