Kero Kero Bonito Share New Single

Alt-pop trailblazers Kero Kero Bonito — a.k.a. Sarah Midori Perry / Sarah Bonito, Gus Lobban and Jamie Bulled – have joined forces with Kerwin Frost for a new track “The Sneaker Dance,” which is the theme song for Kerwin Frost’s new range of clothes for Adidas, and KKB’s paean to the pleasures of dancing in nice trainers.

“The Sneaker Dance” sees the colourful worlds of London’s Kero Kero Bonito & LA visionary Kerwin Frost joining forces for a one-off release in partnership with Adidas. With a video directed by Nick Harwood (SOPHIE, Blood Orange, Kim Petras), “The Sneaker Dance” tells the story of four abstract characters ripping up the rulebook & scratching their new sneakers up, underpinned by bouncy beats, bubbling synths & Sarah Bonito’s distinctive vocal presence.

“We’ve known Kerwin for a little while and we were honoured to be asked to create this song. We traded ideas with him, inspired by both the Fourth World characteristics of KKB’s recent Civilisation mini-album and our earliest MIDI rap tracks, and very quickly came up with the carnivalesque stomp of “The Sneaker Dance.”

“The Sneaker Dance” explores the world of the Benchmates, the three animal characters featured in Kerwin’s designs, and details the dance routine undertaken by Lakeith – the nervy blue dog with the braced up teeth – when he sees a really special pair of sneakers. Do the sneaker dance. Dance as hard as you can.”

Kero Kero Bonito will return to the US next month for 2 very special shows. They will play LA on December 3rd before heading the The Knockdown Center in Queens on December 9th. Details and ticket links can be found below.
