Chattanooga Men’s Golf Adds Three for 2022-23 Campaign

The Chattanooga Mocs men’s golf program may be in hibernation from competition at the moment, but there is still plenty of activity. Signing Day has come and gone with three top juniors plotting their futures with the squad.

Coach Mark Guhne announced the additions of Nicklaus Etherton, Jenson Forrester and Robert Walsh recently via social media. The threesome brings something special to the table.

“We’re excited with these three young men and their potential impact on our program,” Guhne shared. “Our current squad works extremely hard and is growing into the type of team we want here. These three fit that mold very well.”

Friendsville, Tenn. – William Blount H.S.

Six wins on the Sneds Tour with 17 top threes and 19 top 10s over the last five years.
Three top 10 AJGA finishes – Second, 2019 Evitt Foundation RTC Junior All-Star.
Top 10 at 2021 TSSAA Class AA State Championship.

Guhne: “It is vital for us to continue to sign good Tennessee junior golfers. Nick has loads of potential to follow in the footsteps of guys like Jonathan Hodge, Derek Rende & Wes Gosselin and really so many that have really impacted our program.”

Wolverhampton, England – Thomas Telford School

2021 England U18 Champion.
Ranked among top 250 in Europe.
Won 2020 Midlands Closed Am and was runner-up in Midlands Open Am.

Guhne: “He has a signature win at the England U18. That’s a special accomplishment for him and only fuels him to reach new heights.”

Cork, Ireland – Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh

Gained selection in the Irish Boys panel.
One win at 2019 Connacht U18 Boys Open.
Spent this past summer competing in men’s events instead of juniors.

Guhne: “We believe Robbie’s best golf is ahead of him. He’s an Irish junior that got the thumbs up from our own Paul Conroy.”

The Mocs return to the course in February at the Nexus Collegiate. The event is Feb. 14-16 at Albany Golf Club in New Providence, The Bahamas.
