The Dodos Share Music Video For “With A Guitar”

Today The Dodos share the music video for “With A Guitar”, from their new LP Grizzly Peak, out now on Polyvinyl Record Co. The bay area duo kick off 2022 tour dates with shows in Minneapolis and Chicago this week, and gigs on both coasts in the weeks to come.

The Gene Ang and Kristine Lee directed music video for “With A Guitar” finds Meric Long and Logan Kroeber independently enjoying a bay area hillside hike, when upon encountering each other, Kroeber’s dog (played by Long’s own pup Maple) breaks loose and sends them both chasing after. Together they summit the peak (the real life Grizzly Peak) of a mountain at the trail’s conclusion and catch up with the furry runaway as smiles abound. Suffice to say, the imagery aligns with the band’s own story, having first formed with the intention of creating a record that felt and sounded how the inside of a guitar might, and with their latest release, perhaps coming as close to that personal holy grail as they could have ever hoped.

“A star is born today, and her name is Maple the dog! We had so much fun shooting this video on Grizzly Peak…yes that one. Big heartfelt thanks to Kristine Lee and Gene Ang for making this happen. No animals were harmed, just a drone crash and some burning lungs. Enjoy!,” says Meric Long.
