Christian Alexander Returns With Brand New Single “Makeup”

Operating from the bottom of the garden of his rural childhood home near Preston, Lancashire – singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Christian Alexander has released two mixtapes and and EP that perfectly encapsulate what it feels like growing up on the periphery and using his music to document a youth lost in a contradictory, uncertain world. Proving that the themes he writes about are universal and shared by many around the globe it made perfect sense that one day he’d wake to messages from rapper, director and founding member of Brockhampton, Kevin Abstract expressing his admiration for what Alexander was doing. Following months of transatlantic communication (and his remotely recorded contribution to their song “Twisted”) the pair decided it was time for him to decamp to Los Angeles to introduce him to fellow Brockhampton members and begin their journey creating music together. Over the six months he spent there, Alexander grew both musically and personally, the results can be heard most clearly on the first piece of music to surface from the sessions – the carefree and joyously empowering “Makeup” released today through Kevin Abstract and Romil Hemnani’s own label Video Store.
