NeFesh Mountain will perform a free concert on Friday, March 18 at 6:00 PM in the Ochs Sanctuary of Mizpah Congregation, 923 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga.
NeFesh Mountain is a bluegrass band that combines bluegrass and Jewish musical styles. The band forged new paths in the world of bluegrass. Taking a good bit of inspiration from the classics, the band is in uncharted territory in terms of turning bluegrass into an expressive, multi-cultural celebration. Key band members are husband-and-wife team Eric Lindberg and Doni Zasloff.
Eric Linberg is an award winning multi-instrumentalist, composer, and cultural innovator. He brings his musical background in jazz and classical forms to the acoustic world of American Roots music. Eric graduated with honors from Mason Gross School Of The Arts with a jazz performance degree under guitarist and mentor Vic Juris. He has toured extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, Israel and the Middle East, all the while cultivating his skillset and deep love for the banjo, mandolin, dobro and guitar.
Doni Zasloff is a multi award winning singer, songwriter and author. She is regarded as among the most influential Jewish performers in the twenty-first century. In just the past decade Doni has been awarded three Parents Choice Awards, received the Simcha Award from the International Jewish Music Festival in Amsterdam, Holland, has produced over 10 albums, and written two books. She has toured extensively throughout the United States, Canada, England, Australia, and Israel.
