Yung Lean Enlists FKA twigs And Skrillex On New Project

Yung Lean endures. After going viral in 2013, Lean used that energy to craft a successful career, global trends and an extremely devoted fanbase. Well into his career as an established artist, the opening months of 2022 saw him pull off something nigh impossible: his first hit, “Ginseng Strip 2002” went viral for a second time, spawning thousands of TikToks, hitting #1 on Shazam and holding the spot for weeks in a row.

Now, Stardust arrives today as another entry in Yung Lean’s mixtape series. A 12-track self-released project via his own label World Affairs, Stardust enlists FKA twigs, Skrillex, and Jack Donaghue from Salem along with longtime collaborators Whitearmor, Woesum and Ssaliva and additional vocal features from Drain Gang members Bladee, Thaiboy Digital and Ecco2k. It is proof that even in the throes of viral success, Yung Lean’s artistic drive remains unshakable.

In tandem with Stardust‘s release, Yung Lean shares the visuals for the mixtape’s opening track “Bliss” featuring FKA twigs. The Aidan Zamiri-directed, Matthew Josephs-styled video sees Lean joined by twigs who dons a white wedding dress as they ride off in a chandelier-adorned classic car flanked by symbolic imagery that has frequently been employed in Lean’s visual lexicon – a white horse, bikes, and more.

Additionally, Yung Lean is announcing his fall 2022 Starz/Stardust tour in Europe and North America. The 9-date European leg of tour begins this November with stops in Cologne, Berlin, Paris, London, and Dublin. The 6-date North American leg marks Lean’s first shows on the continent since the release of his last studio album, Starz, which arrived just months into the pandemic. The run begins late November in Montreal with stops in Toronto, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Chicago and wraps up in San Francisco in December.
