Singer-songwriter duo, Jim and Sasha Allen, have released their long-awaited debut EP, 16 Borders. The father-and-son duo deliver artful and eloquent folk uplifted by the kind of harmonies only family members could muster, reveling in timeless melody with a modern twist.
“When you listen to the EP, I hope you feel like you’ve been transported elsewhere,” Jim comments about the debut EP. “Maybe it will move you the way our favorite music has moved us. Sasha chose these four songs I wrote because he grew up with them, and that’s very meaningful for me as both a writer and his father.”
“I’d love for audiences to develop an appreciation for folk and Americana,” Sasha continues. “There are so many powerful stories. We’re sharing one.”
2021 saw Jim and Sasha participate in Season 21 of NBC’s The Voice. With Grammy Award-winning megastar Ariana Grande in their corner, they advanced to the semifinals, finishing in the Top 8. Not to mention, they broke ground as the first father-son team on The Voice, and Sasha became the first openly transgender singer on The Voice to advance so far in the show.
In the wake of their success, they appeared on Ellen and landed a deal with IMPERIAL. After generating streams and views in the millions and earning widespread praise from the likes of Entertainment Tonight, Parade, Good Housekeeping, and more, the history-making Newtown, CT pair shine together on their 2022 debut EP, 16 Borders.
