The Weeks Announce ‘Dear Bo Jackson’ 10th Anniversary Tour

Following the announcement of a one-off 2023 date at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl, today, Mississippi rock outfit The Weeks — Cyle Barnes (lead vocals), Cain Barnes (drums), Samuel Williams (guitar, vocals), Damien Bone (bass) — announce a full-length 2023 North American tour, commemorating the 10th Anniversary of their seminal record, Dear Bo Jackson.

“In a blink, it’s been 10 years since we dropped Dear Bo Jackson. In a lot of ways, it’s our first album. After 16 years, there’s always a lot of context behind every release, and Dear Bo (as we’ve affectionately called it for a decade) is the mark of the beginning of our *professional* career. In hindsight, our prior releases came to be more as collections than a proper album. We labored and toiled over Dear Bo Jackson for what felt like ages; demoing, more demoing and reimagining all the way to the August 2012 sessions with Paul Moak that yielded the album. For better or worse, in the age of features and collabs, we’ve remained loyally insular, but this album is the lone deviation. We invited dozens of our first Nashville friends to sing, play, and sometimes just bang on drums and yell. The works. The kitchen sink. Our Sgt. Pepper,” says guitarist Samuel Williams.

“In the end, we played over 1,000 shows behind Dear Bo Jackson between 2013-2015 supporting this album. This album gave us our first taste of the full US and Europe, with so many friends and fans added along the way. For that, I will always be indebted to Dear Bo Jackson.”
