Orions Belte Hit SXSW
Rising Norwegian trio Orions Belte continues on their North American tour this week, bringing their blend of underground pop, psych, and world music to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, the Treefort Festival in Bosie, and other west coast cities after kicking this off on the east coast.
Additionally, they will be hitting the SXSW in Austin, including the International Day Stage as the Aquarium Drunkard/Gold Diggers showcase on March 17th.
The trio of Øyvind Blomstrøm (guitar), Chris Holm (bass), and Kim Åge Furuhaug (drums) recently released the single “Silhouettes”, a rhythmically urgent, driving track with a darker atmosphere. Full of contrasts from the light verses to soaring riffs, floating instrumental parts and a cacaphony of strings signed by Norwegian violinist and composer Ola Kvernberg.
It’s a taste of things to come from their new album set for release this Fall on Jansen Records.
